Virtual Certification Classes are Coming Soon
While COVID has disrupted our day-to-day lives, it also forced us outside of our comfort zone and made us rethink the way we do things, sometimes in a positive way. The Certification Committee has been working to re-evaluate our classes to deliver content in a virtual and engaging way to support your professional growth and learning. Our first success was with HR Basics on June 3 and 4 featuring John Knorek. This event is usually a one day, four hour session. We made the decision to offer it via webinar this year and split the class into two, one and a half hour sessions. We had a record-breaking 75 members and non-members register for the class.
We are now in the process of planning for our fall Certification Prep Class, which has traditionally been held in-person on alternating Saturdays from 9:00 - 3:00 pm. We’ve been researching best practices in delivering classes in a virtual format to ensure that the class is still engaging and helps to facilitate learning. To help us finalize the class structure, we sent out a survey in April. Here are the results!
Thank you to everyone who responded. The results have given us insight to your preferences and will allow us to better serve you as SHRM Hawaii members. With spending so many hours at home, COVID has presented us with the perfect time to focus on our professional development. Why not spend the time studying for your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification? Being certified could be what sets you apart from other candidates and may help you land your next opportunity. Stay tuned for more information on our fall classes and contact us if you have questions about getting certified!
