Join us for this interactive session where you will hear directly from experts representing HIOSH, Legal, and Risk Management perspectives. Alan Yamamoto, Consultation Program Manager, HIOSH
Alan Yamamoto has been with the Hawaii Occupational Safety and Health Division (HIOSH), for the past 20 years. He spent his first eleven-and-a-half years with the Enforcement Branch of the Division, specializing in Occupational Health. Eight and a half years ago, Alan moved to the Consultation & Training Branch of the Division, where he could better utilize his knowledge and assist employers in creating a safe and healthful workplace, rather than citing and penalizing them.
Brent Daub, Senior Founding Partner & Trial Attorney, Gilson Daub
Brent Daub is a founding partner of the law firm, Gilson Daub, that focuses on Workers' Compensation Defense, General Liability Defense, and Subrogation Recovery in Hawai‘i and five states in the mainland U.S. The firm represents insurance carriers, third party administrators (TPA), employers, self-insureds, and municipalities/public entities. Brent earned his Juris Doctorate (JD) and Master’s degree in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law.
Joey Barroso, Risk Consultant, Atlas Insurance Agency
Joey Barroso is a Risk Consultant with Atlas Insurance Agency. He originally began his career in the Commercial Insurance, Property and Casualty division. He brings Corporate Wellness experience along with professional experience in Human Resources, Operations, and Retail. Coupled with his client relationship background, Joey sees his transition to the Risk Control and Claims Management unit as a natural path. Joey earned his Bachelor of Science in Sociology and his MBA from Boise State University. He is a licensed producer, OSHA certified in both General Industry and Construction, and recently received his Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designation.
